Singapore is an island city-state in Southeast Asia. The weather is hot and humid throughout the year, with daily temperatures reaching over 30°C (86°F) and occasional bouts of tropical rain. GETTING AROUND
Getting to Singapore should be fairly easy – you can fly directly to Singapore's Changi Airport from 320 cities worldwide. Once in Singapore, the public transport system is able to take you to any part of the island. The trains, or Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system, is the fastest way to get to any location. You can pay for a single trip or buy an EZ-Link card which stores value. The EZ-Link card can also be used on public buses. You can also travel by taxi. You can hail a taxi cab from the roadside or queue for one at a taxi stand. Taxi cabs in Singapore have a flag-down rate of between S$3.00 and S$5.00 depending on the taxi company and car model. Trips are metered, and there may be additional surcharges depending on the time and locations of your taxi journey.
